Sacred Geometry

“Mathematics is the alphabet with which God has written the universe” (Galileo).

Sacred geometry is a universal language that describes the inner workings of nature and the intrinsic order of the universe. Differing from standard Euclidian geometry taught in schools, which adheres to the disconnected view of the universe, sacred or interdimensional geometry embraces the ecological view of the connected universe, or what physicists refer to as the unified field. Studying the patterns that unite all forms of life from planets to microbes and stars, sacred geometry shows the relatedness between unique differences, demonstrating how diverse elements at all scales can be organized into a whole, while still preserving their individual uniqueness. Everything has an underlying geometric template that links it to the cosmos. Showing how the microcosm reflects the macrocosm, geometric cosmology provides a tangible means of examining the intrinsic order of the universe. Geometry is the constant amidst a continual process of change in nature, whose forms are most represented by the circle, ellipsoid and spiral motifs. What makes geometry sacred is its being inextricably paired with another constant in the universe — light. Proposing a paradigm of physics based on Spirit as light appearing as and energizing geometric forms allows for a novel perspective on the interface between the seen and the unseen, the qualitative and quantitative, and the finite and infinite toward unitive consciousness. While the attainment of same is not linked to any particular schema or dogma, its universal experience is marked by nothing less than the capacity to see all things as separate, while feeling their oneness, accompanied by euphoria.

Our physical bodies are in a constant state of change — every atom of every molecule is continually changed and replaced. Energized with light (electromagnetism), the vehicle of continuity is a geometric spiral (helix) which provides an invisible blueprint upon which DNA is structured. It is these invisible geometric proportions of the spiral that are responsible for the replicating power of the DNA. Hidden in the innermost of things, DNA is the geometric pattern by which the Creator spin-signs the creation at the molecular level.

The author explains how the spiral is a truly universal symbol that is found everywhere in the cosmos and nature, symbolized in cultures dating back over 3000 years. Each person’s fingerprint is a unique spiral. Like snowflakes, no two of them are exactly alike. As the primary organizing movement of galaxies, subatomic particles, water, air and DNA, spirals have also been used to heal. As for the interior life, integrated models of social, evolutionary, organizational and transpersonal psychology lend themselves to a Spiral Dynamics model, which depicts the evolution of human consciousness best represented as a spiraling structure. It is no stretch of the imagination to consider the the spiral motif as THE fingerprint of the eternal deeply embedded in the fabric of creation, and with an independent spirit to pursue unlocking the mystery thereof in the “seek and ye shall find” tradition of the ancient scrolls.

The time has come to realize that an interpretation of the universe .  .  . remains unsatisfying unless it covers the interior as well as the exterior of things; mind as well as matter. The true physics is that which will, one day, achieve the inclusion of man in his wholeness in a coherent picture of the world.” — Teilhard de Chardin

[The video presentation below is one segment in a series of 4 video interviews with the author on the synthesis of science and spirituality, in particular how an evolving unitive consciousness is on track to replace separation-consciousness as the distinguishing feature of the planet’s thinking envelope. Included in the newsletter intro to each video segment, as seen below, are links to video shorts that graphically illustrate key points in the discussion.]

SCIENCE AND SPIRITUALITY EPISODE 2

Hello everyone!

We continue our series with Joe Masterleo and discussions of light energy and sacred geometry. Joe talks about spirals and of course, we tie this into our use of Spiral Dynamics. Sacred geometry reveals patterns that are key to unlocking the mystery of the created order, the unified field, a new cosmology, and an integral theology that is trans-religious and transdisciplinary. Circles and ellipses also appear everywhere in nature, which by the way are great for making a VENN Diagram! 🙂

I will be doing 4 episodes with Joe and then I will do some summary episodes of the subject of science and spirituality by myself. In the summary episodes I will focus on the theological perspectives integrating with science. I’ll take a number of different aspects from the narrative to show how the two converge. In fact, I’ll be so bold as to do a VENN trajectory of both to show a unity in their movement into formlessness. The subject is fascinating to me because faith is all about the “evidence of things not seen” as described in the biblical book of Hebrews 11:1. Never before has their been so much discussion between these two fields, especially when science rightfully went its own way, having separated from the dogmatic dictates of medieval religion. We’ll discuss this in more detail as well.

A Message from Joe Masterleo
From small beginnings, God makes things that make other, more complex things. Like a tiny mustard seed, all created things uncoil and evolve from an invisible dynamic center point at their innermost. Appearing as if out of nowhere (ex nihilo) from empty spaceatoms group into molecules which form cells, which in turn form tissues, organs and eventually organisms. Among the universal images cast onto the field of matter from the quantum world (Spirit) is the spiral motif. Spirals are found at all scales in the universe, from quark to quasar. The spiral is a complex vortex that twists and rolls the stuff of creation from a sub-atomic zero-point at its tightly packed center, uncoiling from there like a scroll. Graphic designer Cristobal Vila has created powerfully animated images of same set to music in two awe-inspiring videos. The first is “The Amazing Fibonacci Spiral/Sequence,” found here. In the second, “Infinite Patterns” found here, note how the DNA molecule spins and whirls around an invisible axis the way plant tendrils coil around a garden stake. DNA and RNA contain electromagnetic feedback loops from the zero-point quantum (invisible) order we call God. All things large and small are created from the magnetic still-point of an invisible axis at their center (axis mundi) impressed upon the canvas of space-time by light. Quantum mechanics supports the notion that God is light, the invisible origin and substance of all created form.
