Module 1: Encountering the Universe
An Introduction to the New Cosmology
(12 weeks)
Section 1: Wednesdays 7:00 – 9:00 PM ET (US): Sept. 22, 2021 – Dec. 15, 2021
Section 2: Fridays 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM ET (US): Sept. 24, 2021 – Dec. 17, 2021
Week 1 (Sept. 22, 24): Course Overview and Introductions — Where do we see transformation happening and a call for leadership? What’s trying to be born now? Where do we feel called to make a contribution?
Week 2 (Sept. 29, Oct. 1): Pod Meetings — Imogene Drummond, an empowerment-through-creativity specialist, will share a toolkit of techniques based on and inspired by Active Listening, Public Speaking, and Community Building. Designed for on-line group dynamics, these skills will equip participants to consciously engage in and promote connective, compassionate dialogue.
Week 3 (Oct. 6, 8): Principle One — Context (with Brian Swimme) — Brian Swimme will paint the big picture of a universe characterized by cosmogenesis and its implications for leadership and our way of being.
Week 4 (Oct. 13, 15): Pod Meetings — What are the implications of a cosmic context for leadership and our lives? Marianne Rowe leads us in the transformational practice of Emergent Dialogue. Pod groups discuss How do we see leadership and a way of being within the context of deep past and deep future?
Week 5 (Oct. 20, 22): Principle Two — Matrix: Embeddedness/Relationships (with Ursula Goodenough) Quantum Theory tells us that everything is part of a vast field of creativity. Biology tells us that all living beings are related. This utterly transforms our world view of humans as being separate to one of relationality with the whole.
Week 6 (Oct. 27, 29): Principle Two –– Matrix Leadership Through Resonance & Dissonance with Matt Cobb. Leadership happens with vision and inside of complex relationships. Exploring adaptive leadership which was developed for evolution, Matt explores how emergence happens through resonance AND dissonance.
Week 7 (Nov. 3, 5): Pod Meetings —We explore embeddedness and relationality and the implications for leadership and our way of being in the world?
Week 8 (Nov. 10, 12): Principle Three — Interiority and Leadership.
Week 9 (Nov. 17, 19): Pod Meetings — Orla Hazra will discuss the power of academic, therapeutic and homiletic languages in an exploration of multiple ways of listening and communicating. Applying the principle of “Interiority” within groups, we explore how understanding that the whole universe has interiority(subjectivity) changes leadership and our way of being?
Week 10 (Dec. 1, 3): Principle Four — Action (Enacting the Ecozoic) with Herman Greene Action inside a deeptime perspective is participating in evolution to bring about an Ecozoic Era through Equity, Inclusion, Diversity and Sustainability. How does this view change our notions of leadership and our way of being?
Week 11 (Dec. 8, 10): Pod Meetings — Orla Hazra returns to talk about the universe as a teaching/learning systemic process. Within our groups, we apply the principle of “Action” as participating in evolution; and explore how this view changes leadership and how we personally and organizationally make decisions?
Week 12 (Dec. 15, 17): Final Integration — Celebration of the fruits of our journey together and harvesting inspirations for the future.
Module 2: Expressing the Universe
Applying the New Cosmology (Case Studies)
(10 weeks)
Section 1: Wednesdays 7:00 – 9:00 PM ET (US): Jan. 12, 2022 – March 23, 2022
Section 2: Fridays 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM ET (US): Jan. 14, 2022 – March 25, 2022
Learning tracks – Educators, students, religious & spiritual, therapists, politicians/ activists/movement builders, Economics, creatives, others
Week 1 (Jan. 12, 14): Course Overview and Introductions — Applying principles to birthing the Ecozoic and the kind of leadership and way of being that will take into a new Era.
Week 2 (Jan. 19, 21): Principle One — Context: Deeptime Learning and Leadership, with Orla Hazra and Jennifer Morgan. Leadership starts with a learning context at every stage of life and in all areas of life. Presenters demonstrate Deeptime Learning Principles that foster Deeptime Leadership and personal empowerment.
Week 3 (Jan. 26, 28): Learning Track Pods. Marianne Rowe leads us in the transformational practice of Emergent Dialogue, a practice that tunes into a larger field of creativity, inspiring and enabling each person to speak and lead from that larger field.
Week 4 (Feb. 2, 4): Principle Two – Matrix: Application to Ecology/Diversity/Anti Bias
Week 5 (Feb. 9, 11): Learning Track Pods. For Certificate track, Margie Abbott will offer a gentle Introduction to preparing Alignment Meditations for an Ecozoic Era.
Week 6 (Feb 23, 25): Principle Three — Interiority; Leading from the Inside Out with Sr. Gail Worcelo. Sr. Gail Worcelo, co-founder (with Thomas Berry) of the Green Mountain Monastery, will share practices and perspectives to embrace subjectivity in an ecozoic perspective.
Week 7 (March 2, 4): Learning Track Pods. For Certificate track, Margie Abbott will offer mentoring in Deeptime meditations with the theme “Being Present to Self, to the Group and to the Purpose of the Session,” returning again and again to the present moment now.
Week 8 (March 9, 11): Principle Four — Deeptime Leadership in Action with Duane and Coleen Elgin. Duane, visionary leader and author of Choosing Earth, and Coleen, filmmaker and producer of Facing Adversity: Choosing Earth, Choosing Life will show us how future-based leadership is based on the flourishing of the whole.
Week 9 (March 16, 18): Learning Track Pods
Week 10 (March 23, 25): Final Integration with Sarbmeet Kanwal — Celebration of the fruits of our journey together and the power of a shared cosmic story to inspire and empower ourselves and others for the future.

Deeptime Leadership Practicum
(10 weeks)
Section 1: Wednesdays 7:00 – 9:00 PM ET (US): April 6, 2022 – June 15, 2022
Section 2: Fridays 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM ET (US): April 8, 2022 – June 17, 2022
Week 1 (April 6, 8): Course Overview and Deeptime Discernment. Where do you see transformation happening and a call for leadership? Where do you feel called to make a contribution?
Week 2 (April 13, 15): Adaptive Leadership with Matt Cobb. Matt Cobb will demonstrate neuroscientific principles of centered leadership in a group setting.
Week 3 (April 20, 22): Peer Pods. Marianne Rowe leads us in the transformational practice of Emergent Dialogue, a practice that tunes into a larger field of creativity, inspiring and enabling each person to speak and lead from that larger field.
Week 4 (April 27, 29): The Earth Charter, Laudato Si and other International Initiatives, with Mary Evelyn Tucker and Denise Tangney. Mary Evelyn, one of the drafters of the Earth Charter, and Denise will connect Deeptime Principles with everyday actions and international movements.
Week 5 (May 4, 6): Peer Pods
Week 6 (May 18, 20) Leading for the Deep Future, with Yona Frenchhawk. Yona, Cherokee wisdom keeper, will show us how an indigenous way of leadership and being brings us deeply in tune with the deep past, deep future and deep present.
Week 7 (May 25, 27): Peer Pods
Week 8 (June 1, 3): Deeptime Leadership in Action with John Leydon, Elizabeth Carranza and Robert Athickal. Presenters discuss their experience with applying Deeptime Principles with large scale organizations and movements in the Philippines and India.
