Module 1: Encountering the Universe
An Introduction to the New Cosmology
(11 weeks)
Section 1: Wednesdays 7:00 – 9:00 PM ET (US): Sept. 21, 2022 – Dec. 14, 2022
Section 2: Fridays 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM ET (US): Sept. 23, 2022 – Dec. 16, 2022
Week 1 (Sept. 21, 23): Course Overview and Introductions — Where do we see transformation happening and a call for leadership? What’s trying to be born now? Where do we feel called to make a contribution?
Week 2 (Sept. 28, 30): Pod Meetings — Imogene Drummond, an empowerment-through-creativity specialist, will share a toolkit of techniques inspired by Active Listening, Public Speaking, and Community Building. Designed for on-line group dynamics, these skills equip participants to promote connective, compassionate dialogue.
Week 3 (Oct. 5, 7): Principle One — Context with Brian Swimme — Brian Swimme will paint the big picture of a universe characterized by cosmogenesis and its implications for leadership and our way of being.
Week 4 (Oct. 12, 14): Pod Meetings — What are the implications of a cosmic context for leadership and our lives?
Week 5 (Oct. 19, 21): Principle Two — Matrix: Embeddedness/Relationships (with Sarbmeet Kanwal) Quantum Theory tells us that everything is part of a vast field of creativity. This utterly transforms our world view of humans as being separate to one of relationality with the whole.
Fall break – no class on Oct 26 or 28
Week 6 (Nov. 2, 4): Pod Meetings —We explore embeddedness and relationality and the implications for leadership and our way of being in the world?
Week 7 (Nov. 9, 11): Principle Three — Interiority and Leadership (with Cliff Berrien). We explore the diversity of interiority and its many different forms and expressions.
Week 8 (Nov. 16, 18): Pod Meetings — Orla Hazra will discuss the power of academic, therapeutic and homiletic languages in an exploration of ways of communicating. Applying the principle of “Interiority,” we explore how understanding that the whole universe has interiority (subjectivity) changes leadership and our way of being. For Certificate track, Margie Abbott will offer introduce ways to prepare meditations for an Ecozoic Era.
NO CLASS Nov. 23rd & 25th
Week 9 (Nov. 30, Dec. 2): Principle Four — Action (Enacting the Ecozoic) with Herman Greene. Action inside a deeptime perspective is aligning with evolution to bring about an Ecozoic Era. How does this view change our notions of leadership and our way of being?
Week 10 (Dec. 7, 9): Creativity and Action, Pod Meetings – Artists Angela Manno and Sam Guarnaccia in conversation about Art as Action.
Week 11 (Dec. 14, 16): Final Integration — Celebration of the fruits of our journey together and harvesting inspirations for the future.

Applying the New Cosmology (Case Studies)

Section 2: Fridays 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM ET (US): Jan. 13, 2023 – March 24, 2023

Week 1 (Jan. 11, 13): Course Overview and Introductions — Applying principles to birthing the Ecozoic and the kind of leadership and way of being that will take into a new Era.
Week 2 (Jan. 18, 20): Principle One — Context: Deeptime Learning and Leadership, with Orla Hazra and Jennifer Morgan. Leadership starts with a learning context at every stage of life and in all areas of life. Presenters demonstrate Deeptime Learning Principles that foster Deeptime Leadership and personal empowerment.
Week 3 (Jan. 25, 27): Home and Certificate Pods. Margie Abbott will offer mentoring in Deeptime meditation.
Week 4 (Feb. 1, 3): Principle Two –– Matrix Leadership Through Resonance & Dissonance with Matt Cobb. Leadership happens with vision and inside of complex relationships. Exploring adaptive leadership which was developed for evolution, Matt explores how emergence happens through resonance AND dissonance.
Week 5 (Feb. 8, 10): Learning Track Pods. Marianne Rowe leads us in the transformational practice of Emergent Dialogue, a practice that tunes into a larger field of creativity, inspiring and enabling each person to speak and lead from that larger field.
NO CLASS FEB. 15th & 17th
Week 6 (Feb 22, 24): Principle Three — Interiority – Application Spotlight: Deeptime and Therapy. Therapists Kim Bella, Marianne Rowe, Rebecca Strong, Lisa Verni, and M.J. Zimmerman in conversation about how they apply Deeptime principles in their therapy practice.
Week 7 (March 1, 3): Home and Certificate Track Pods. For Certificate track, Margie Abbott will offer further mentoring on preparing Alignment Meditations for an Ecozoic Era.
Week 8 (March 8, 10): Principle Four — Deeptime Leadership in Action with Matthew Fox. Exploring the Creation Spirituality tradition as a contributor to the New Cosmology movement and how it empowers action.
Week 9 (March 15, 17): Home and Certificate Track Pods. Course participants share a Deeptime story in Learning track pods for Week 9, demonstrating how Deeptime storytelling and examples can inspire leadership in this field.
Week 10 (March 22, 24): Final Integration with Sarbmeet Kanwal — Celebration of the fruits of our journey together and the power of a shared cosmic story to inspire and empower ourselves and others for the future.

Deeptime Leadership Practicum

Week 1 (April 5, 7): Course Overview and Deeptime Discernment. Where do you see transformation happening and a call for leadership? Where do you feel called to make a contribution?
Week 2 (April 12, 14): Deeptime Leadership and Technology with Bill Hallal. Bill will share his perspective on how the technological era can lead to a new age of global consciousness.
Week 3 (April 19, 21): Peer Pods
Week 4 (April 26, 28): The Earth Charter, Laudato Si and other International Initiatives, with Mary Evelyn Tucker. Mary Evelyn, one of the authors of the Earth Charter will connect Deeptime Principles with everyday actions and international movements.
Week 5 (May 3, 5): Peer Pods
No Class May 10th & 12th
Week 6 (May 17, 19): Deeptime Leadership in Action. We’ll share inspiring examples of how people have applied these Deeptime Leadership principles on the ground in organizations and communities around the world.
Week 7 (May 24, 26): Peer Pods
Week 8 (May 31, June 2): Leading for the Deep Future with Yona FrenchHawk. Yona, Cherokee wisdom keeper, will show us how an indigenous way of leadership and being brings us deeply in tune with the deep past, deep future and deep present.
