Starting Friday, Oct 29, I will be delivering a series of 3 talks, one per week, as part of a lifelong learning program at the community college where I teach physics and astronomy.  The topic of this series is: TIME: the mystery at the heart of the universe. The abstract of the talk is attached below (sorry for the fuzzy image). It is 2pm to 4 pm EDT (New York time)

I was inspired by Carloi Rovelli’s book titled, Reality is not What it Seems to create this series. He shows in his book how it is not time but change that is fundamental to the universe. Time emerged from the big bang as a material expression of constant change that is inherent in the very essence of our universe. Quantum physics shows that it is not change that happens in time but it is time that emerges out of change. Change is what our universe arose from. The whole story of deep time is an embodiment of restless change. I feel there is a message in this for us, that to align with the universe we must embrace change, no matter what it brings. It is creative emergent change that brought us into existence and it is creative emergent change that will move us forward, and we must learn to trust in its infinite wisdom.

There is a small fee ($69) for registration but as the talks are all on zoom and recordings will be made available to students, anyone can register from anywhere in the world. Here are 2 ways to register:

By Phone: Call +1 732-224-2315 to speak to a member or our team (M-F, 8:30 am-5 pm) or leave a voice message at any time and we will return your call as soon as possible.
By Email: Email Continuing and Professional Studies with the name of the class in the subject line and include your phone number in the email. We’ll  call you back to register for the program.
