The reason I stress Service-Learning is because I served as advisor for a community service club for 16 years. One program of many was an after school program with several initiatives for high school students teaching culture, language, art, music /songs, games to 3rd graders. It was called The CALM Club – Culture, Arts, Language Mentoring – We received a $1000 from a local company to implement the monthly afterschool program for a year. The high school students who took World Languages planned the programming for the languages they were taking in high school- Spanish, French, and Italian, while students who were native speakers of other languages – Croatian, Hindi, Chinese, Twi (from Ghana)…took chage of those additional cultures. Anne, I really do appreciate your enthusiasm and am grateful to be part of such a dynamic group of people as I learn. —

Hello all –
Thanks to those of you who have participated in the Doodle.
I have heard from Anne that she is interested primarily in lifelong learning. I am generally interested in any way to make Cosmogenesis more accessible to more people, and particularly interested in ways to introduce the concepts in self-organized ways with 12-14-year-olds.
