This morning after finishing the AMS Webinair of Montessori’s Cosmic Education (fostering understanding of integral consciousness and ability to discern cosmic task) I checked my email and found something needing a response to my elected officials in the United States. How my officials in the United States vote on tuesday has huge implications for the flourishing of Earth. I realize many of my elected officials do not share our integral understanding and have solutions based on short time goals (eg jobs) ignoring the long term consequences of continuing green house gas emissions and what that is doing to our Earth homeland. I also realize that politicians the world over are invested in this decision since they also do not share out integral understanding and are funded by companies (in India and elsewhere) who want this oil and have big investments for ‘development’ of a particular kind. The link below will help you to convey your sentiments- and can also be used in the classroom to foster conversation.

    • Thank you Orla. I know this is an issue of concern for the US and Canada but there are similar things going on in other countries where our members live, and in the end this is a global issue. Making the connection between our cosmologies/worldviews and actions we take in the world is an important part of this Network. What does it mean to come into right relationship with Earth/Cosmos? The Earth Charter is a beautiful statement of our goals in this regard. Burning non-renewable fossil fuels that pollute our rivers, air and land and destroy communities is far from the mutually enhancing relationships we hope to promote through a New Cosmology grounded in an evolving universe as context and matrix. In my own personal view, the time is now more than ever, inside our evolving universe to move definitively toward renewal sources of energy. Such a huge and crucially important issue. I’ve contacted my senators in New Jersey US and encourage others too in the US to do so as well. Thanks again Orla. In solidarity and with deep gratitude Jennifer
