Twenty five years ago, on October 20 and 21, 1998, Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim organized two days of conferences in New York at the United Nations and the American Museum of Natural History, where the formation of the Forum on Religion and Ecology was announced. The Forum began at Harvard and moved to Yale in 2006. There, a joint program in religion and ecology was established between the Yale School of the Environment and Yale Divinity, and later a Master’s program in religion and ecology was created at the Divinity School. The Forum is still based at Yale and is now affiliated with the Yale Center for Environmental Justice.
