Carl Safina, PhD
Carl Safina hosted the PBS series Saving the Ocean, and is the author of the classic book, Song for the Blue Ocean. Carl’s seventh book is Beyond Words; What Animals Think and Feel. He has won a MacArthur Genius Prize, Pew and Guggenheim Fellowships; book awards from Lannan, Orion, and the National Academies; and the John Burroughs, James Beard, and George Rabb medals.  His TED talk on What Animals Think and Feel has been seen  by over 2 Million viewers! Carl  is the first Endowed Professor for Nature and Humanity at Stony Brook University and he runs the
not-for-profit Safina Center. Carl’s NEWEST book is  Becoming Wild; How Animal Cultures Raise Families, Create Beauty, and Achieve Peace.  He is a renowned professor, author and presenter and we are honored to welcome him to Homecoming Farm.
