Translators wanted. I’m looking at the latest quiz, mod 2 wk 4 and I’m struggling to understand the questions.  I have real difficulty with Deeptime speak (part of me wants to say jargon so I will).  Can anyone put these questions into simple everyday langauge.  I’d really appreciate it.  Thanks Then I can do  the  quiz.

from Q1 : ‘How can the matrix and embeddedness of the project be a support for its expression in the world?’

Q2 : ‘Describe some of the benefits, importance, and application of Deeptime principles to social justice, environmental action, human rights, and other diversity, equity, and inclusivity issues as you see them now.’ My eyes are definitely rolling at this one!.

Dear God/ Goddess – what is this – Q3 below? How do English as a 2nd language people cope? I am a native English speaker with a postgrad degree and I haven’t the faintest idea what this is on about?

3. ‘What are some differences between extraction vs. reciprocity cultural and economic models as they express Matrix?’

All help much appreciated. Off for a cup of tea!

I’m way behind and this is the only quiz I’ve done.  Module 2 , Quiz 1. I was determined not to get behind for module 2!  Loving this new space to co-create and connect.

What is the Context out of which your project and/or current allurement is arising? What are the contexts, life circumstances, communities your project will impact or benefit? How is this context a holon inside of the larger Whole?

Context : My ever deepening love and experience of our universe and passion to share this with others. – how it entrances me, holds me, relaxes and soothes me, inspires me and calls me on into new possibilities. Feeling the universe responding to my request for increasing intimacy with guidance, resources, downloads, experiences, insights, processes that I didn’t know about or intend until they happen – and actually in the depths of my being I feel the Heart of the Cosmos as love.

Who will benefit : Anyone who feels lost, daunted and confused in these challenging times and who feels there is more to life than consuming and material reality but doesn’t know what.

What benefits – profound belonging, trust in the univ navigating crisis in the past & can do so today, letting go and participating in the univ always making itself. Discovering a sense of possibility. Making it easy to align with the evolutionary impulse. Reclaiming meaning and discovering the joy of experiencing the universe move through them. Feeling the excitement of being held by and at the centre of a living, intelligent universe. Specialness and enoughness – it took 14 billion years to make you.

PS: Even after reading this 4 times I still don’t really understand it even though I have googled holon . Please can you use everyday language in quizzes. All of us on this course want to share the Univ story with other people and we are going to have to use simple language. Part of my expectation of this course is that it makes things simple and so helps me to make it simple for others. Also such complex language/jargon doesn’t walk the talk of the course and respect the diversity of human learning/experience as in my view it discriminates against those of us who don’t use our minds in that way.

 

How does our understanding of Context change from the “Old Story” to the “New Story” as articulated by Thomas Berry? What difference does this make when applied to leadership?

Old story : dead static machine like universe . Hence need to impose goals, strategies, targets and ‘make things happen’. Separation. Earth as resource to be used. Fallen humanity trying to recover bliss. Patriarchal – supremacy of the intellect, and the masculine; hierarchical with human at top of pile, need to control this physical reality. Only certain entities have value. Monocultures.

New story : an alive, intelligent, creative universe seamlessly connected and ever unfolding in a definite direction through a series of one time leaps in creativity. Everything matters and has value. The Universe as home and it’s story as revelation – of who we are and how we got here. Reclaiming the fullness of the human – the feminine, body, intuition, energy, feelings, experience, psyche, intuition. Rejoicing in interiority and diversity. Aligning with and being carried by the evolutionary impulse. Living with energy as primary from which all matter emerges. Choosing to consciously evolve. Community and connection. Profound meaning and fulfillment.

New Story leadership – an act of humble service to the greater good of the whole and the birthing of a better world. The new story leader is energetically present : a) to the universe, b) to themself – their body and energy, c) to the people/situation and trusts that she will be guided in the moment. Seeks possibility and process in alignment with the cosmos. Is emotionally intelligent and knows her own triggers, wounds and trauma so she can hold a loving wise presence. Stands in her truth like a tree and ready to admit when she is off track.  Wants everything – every entity and being to flower in its fullness.

Yay!  Things are evolving – I’m on schedule on a module’s quizzes.  🙂 I have enjoyed typing this in my PJ’s in bed – it’s helped make feeling ill on a Saturday more bearable.

Hi Cynthia

This is a v belated and overdue thanks for your response. I’m very grateful. I now understand  a bit better and will get this quiz sorted. I’ve still got the module 1 quizzes to catch up on so I will doubtess need your help again.

‘In short, I used the questions as prompts’ – I am unable to do that – the concepts and language used on the quiz forms and a lot of the course don’t connect with how I experience the universe and how I process information.  This may seem as if I am  being awkward  yet they truly have little or no meaning for me – its like a foreign language that I don’t know & don’t have a dictionary for.

It’s a bit like if someone says something to me in metric units –  I have to convert them to feet and inches or pounds and ounces in my head before I can understand what they mean. Only with this conceptual language  I can’t google the equivalent of ‘convert metres to feet’ so I’m stuck.

I loved reading your quiz replies does anyone else feel like sharing any of theirs or o you feel like sharing another/more of yours?
