Welcome to our ongoing Journey!

2019 has a big year of growth for the Journey project.  We’ve connected with hundreds of new community members over the last few months.

Individuals from every continent and every generation have expressed to us that they are interested in and passionate about the story of the Universe.  They believe, like us, that this story has something important to offer a world that’s in need of a broader vision, hope, and unity.

On October 12, there was a premiere showing of Journey of the Universe with Chinese subtitles at the Yale Beijing Center.  The Journey book was also available in Chinese, and the online classes on Journey, which are translated into Chinese, were also featured.  There was a capacity audience of 160 in Beijing and 75,000 people watched this in live streaming across China. We were delighted to continue to share this story with new and old friends in China.

In October we are featuring two podcasts conversations on Sustainable Energy and Healing and Revisioning.  These podcasts explore how we may heal our past and empower our future through a broader sense of self, place, and participation in the story of the Universe.

This episode features a conversation on Sustainable Energy with Paula Gonzalez.

In this conversation, Paula narrates the efforts of Catholic sisters to harness solar power and other natural systems as a means of protecting the Earth community and participating in the story of the universe.
HEALING AND REVISIONING

This episode features a conversation with Belvie Rooks on Healing and Revisioning.

In this conversation, Belvie describes how teaching the story of the universe has empowered African American youth to contextualize slavery, envision healing and reconciliation, and imagine a better future through a broader sense of self and of place.
CONFUCIANISM AND COSMOLOGY:
How does Chinese thought energize and elevate an evolutionary worldview? Mary Evelyn’s introductions to the film and the panel discussion

In October Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim are visiting China for an international symposium of 150 scholars who are gathering to celebrate the Confucian scholar Tu Weiming’s 80th birthday. They are also showing Journey of the Universe at Duke Kunshan University and at the Yale Beijing Center.

Mary Evelyn organized and moderated the program at the Yale Beijing Center that illustrated how the cosmological perspectives of Journey of the Universe are compatible with the Confucian cosmology of the unity of Cosmos, Earth, and humans. After a showing of the film three leading Chinese scholars commented on the film and China’s efforts to promote an ecological civilization through Confucian ecological values.

The aim of this program was to suggest that the issues of environmental sustainability are enhanced when joined to the humanities and environmental ethics. An interdisciplinary synthesis of science, policy, and traditional cultural values deepens China’s promotion of an ecological civilization.
BRIAN’S MOST ENGAGED LECTURES RELEASED AS AUDIOBOOKS

Throughout these titles Brian places the human psyche within the 13.8 billion year cosmic process in order to highlight the directions in which human consciousness is evolving today and into the future.  If you are interested in understanding evolution and a scientifically-based philosophical orientation to the meaning of life, you will find this program highly valuable.
JOURNEY OF THE UNIVERSE MINI-COURSE WTIH PACHAMAMA

We’ve teamed up with our friends at Pachamama to offer a Journey of the Universe mini-course.  Through this course, you will have access to the Journey film, select Conversation titles, and community conversation to deepen your understanding and integration of the Great Story and Great Work of our times.
