“The fundamental images we hold of the universe are central to the whole process of exploring meaning” (Swimme & Tucker, 2011, p. 9). When I reflect on the heart of the mission of education, I believe that it should guide children towards an appreciation and love for the world as opposed to the exploitation of it (Gang & Morgan, 2003). As I was reading and researching, I was struck by creative manifestations created through the tension between seemingly polar forces. In regard to the potentiality of individuals to fully form, self-realize, and provide a positive contribution to society and the universe, my questions kept leading me back to the creative tension between the commitment to individuality and the individual’s responsibility to the greater whole.   (Read more by click on “Link to Resource” above.)
