The World Premiere of this new choral and orchestral work will take place in Cleveland on June 30th 2017 at the Milton and Tamar Performing Arts Center at The Temple – Tifereth Israel. Cleveland’s Blue Water Chamber Orchestra and the Cleveland Community Choir will perform the work under the direction of Scott MacPherson. The Oratorio was inspired by the 2011 Emmy Award winning epic documentary film Journey of the Universe and tells the Great Story, our 13.8 billion-year journey from the Big Bang to the present day.

The concert event is the culmination of a remarkable transdisciplinary synergy among Cleveland, national, and international groups and institutions, partnerships with first rank scientific, educational, environmental, artistic, cultural, and literary individuals and initiatives. Among supporting and collaborative partners are the Western Reserve Land Conservancy, Case Western Reserve University, John Carroll University, The Intergenerational Schools and Intergenerational Schools International, the Deep Time Journey Network, The Argosy Foundation, the American Teilhard Association, the Thomas Berry Foundation, The Yale Forum, the World Union of Jesuit Alumni and many notable persons associated with these and other organizations.

Showing of the film “Journey of the Universe” and talk by Mary Evelyn Tucker will also take place at the conference.
