Experiences of Astronauts Returning to Earth
Click for this Resource! This film has a number of astronauts describe their experience of seeing the earth from space. Some of them call their experience the “overview effect.” They recall Carl Sagan’s recognition that the earth is a fragile spaceship, protected by a thin atmosphere. This 19 minute film is an important introduction for recognizing the importance of the New Story, our new origin story that transforms our assumptions about who we are.

- Why I love this Resource: The astronauts insist that they see that the earth is alive and vulnerable. The words from astronauts' experiences are compelling. They thought they had gone to study the moon but for many an awakening experience of the earth was what changed them.
